A viral video about PUBLISHING?!

by Michael

I was really impressed by this video from DK in the UK.  It was designed for use in-house, but it was so popular that they decided to share the love.  And, in my experience talking to teen readers at events, this video is right on!  (Make sure to watch it all the way through–you’ll miss the point if you don’t!)

That is SUCH and INCREDIBLE ad! wow …

  3. Talewright says:

Fantastic. What is even more impressive is that the video is the way a book ought to be written from back to front, there and back again.

Thanks for this. I'll keep the viral going!

We Brits are a bunch of Clever Clogs. (But she did have to slip an extra 'of' in there to make it really work.)Planning to show this to my middle-schooler when he returns home.

And here's me being all cynical that they threw book covers together in two minutes using Photoshop. This two minute video has changed my mind on that one.

That was absolutely amazing! Thanks for posting that, Michael!

    Awesome!

That's brilliant. There's a great thing circulating right now — the history of WWII done in Facebook-speak. It's hugely popular with teenagers and a great example of how history can be made accessible.

  16. The Wicked Lady says:

The DK video is a very clever version of a video that circulated a while back. It was by an American student, and the topic was the current generation of youth, rather than reading / publishing. Does anyone know the title or link? I've been trying to find it again for some time.

Clever (and I mean it in the more British sense, as a compliment, without the slight condescension that is associated with the American use of the word) idea that is very well done. A great reminder not to assume motivations and interests but to actually listen.
